Wyldephyre is a musician with a modern take on how electronic music and jazz music can work together synonymously to create a unique sound which appeals to and can be felt by fans of either genre.  Made by Sean Meade, Wyldephyre began in 2012 as a platform to create hip-hop tracks, inspired by the vast creative sounds that electronic music had to offer.

In 2016, Wyldephyre became a part of the Beats & Coffee team, a beat collective from Wilmington, NC.  Under Beats & Coffee, he began to refine his sound through frequent compilation releases, where he released his first EP, “For the Love of Dilla,” which was written in a style to pay tribute to J Dilla.  In July 2019, Sean obtained his Master’s degree at the Berklee College of Music in Valencia, Spain in order to further refine his sound as Wyldephyre.

Through the process, Wyldephyre has largely become two separate experiences. First, as a producer, whose goal is to create electronic-infused hip-hop music; and second, as a live band experience, whose goal is to seamlessly find the balance between live jazz and electronic music.

As a producer, Wyldephyre is preparing to release his second solo EP, “The Psychedelic Set,” a live performed set of eclectic music that balances the fine line between instrumental hip-hop, dance, and trap music.  The EP will be available to stream globally on April 3rd, 2020.  You can also read about some of the behind the scenes of the EP with a talk between Wyldephyre and Wilmington’s Brian Tucker here.

In the live band format, Wyldephyre is in the process of producing, recording and releasing his debut album as a live band leader that showcases his talent with 15 years of experience playing saxophone, and 7 years of experience as a producer in Ableton Live, titled “What Lies Ahead”.
